Trevor Middleditch

Trevor Middleditch was born in 1944 in Stockton-on-Tees. He started his art career sketching cowboys and Indians for his school chums in the 1950’s - asking no fee!

His interest in aircraft began after watching the D.H Vampire and Gloster Meteors at nearby RAF Thornaby. He joined the air training corps in 1959. and later started flying lessons at Teeside Airport.

A career ensued as a G.P.O telephone engineer in 1969. Then leaving BT in 1992 seemed to be a good opportunity to concentrate more on painting. However family commitments and running his own
Telecommunications business, it wasn’t until he became a ‘friend’ of the Guild of Aviation Artists and also accepted to exhibit his paintings in the Mall gallery in London at his first attempt did he concentrate more on his artwork.

His paintings of landscapes and seascapes are also influenced by his interest in aircraft and G.P.O vehicles, with the nostalgia this evokes of recording scenes that have not been recorded by photographs.
